Freelance writer, wordsmith, and novelist

I don’t know about you, but I’m a very special, unique individual with a complicated life, an unusual story, a background that has things in it I’d rather weren’t, a messy family, a cluttered house, a big heart, good intentions, a well-developed sarcasm muscle, a sometimes dysfunctional body image, chronic dissatisfaction with certain aspects of society, severe introversion with tendencies towards rabid attention-seeking, not enough time, intermittent anxiety about things I can’t control, and above all a desire to leave a positive impact on the world and the people I love.

Next Tuesday, July 25th we will be having a #release party for #GraceGroup, in my hometown of the heart, #YorbaLinda, #California. As much as it saddens me to be having this momentous event away from Dreamy and the #kids, there is some consolation in enjoying TWO two-and-a-half hour plane rides, a bed, and a night’s sleep all to myself while I’m gone. This #trip is on the heels of an unexpectedly enjoyable #family #getaway to the Inland ‘Empire’ of Southern California just last week. Overall, we had a wonderful time with the #twins and #bigsis, but it was not without its #struggles. Here is how I expect the two journeys to compare.

What the heck, one might ask (or did, if one were a book coach) is the relation between my fiction and my blogs, who am I as an author, and WHAT am I trying to do with my writing anyway?

Way back when I found out I was pregnant with Grace, I remember people who already had kids saying smugly “Ooooh, now EVERYTHING is going to change!” I don’t know what’s up with people trying to terrify moms-to-be, but this was about the worst thing anyone could have said to me.  Although I’m a cheerful …

I read something really funny on one of my mommy feeds the other day. It was called something like ‘Ten ways to know if you have a strong-willed child.’ Let me save you some reading…if you need ten clues, you most definitely do NOT have a strong-willed child. On the other hand, if you Do …

Because there is not much else going on in the world this week, I have been slightly obsessing on bunk beds. Let me explain. About six months ago, after #NoBen figured out how to fling himself out of his crib, we converted the cribs to toddler beds to avoid broken arms (and in Aiden’s case, …

I just looked at the calendar and realized that in less than a month, I will have three kids in preschool! This doesn’t even seem possible. Now mind you, it’s only a few hours a couple times a week, but next year, Bisky will be in Kindergarten all day, every day. I honestly don’t know …

Two years ago today, the doctors finally took pity on my poor, bloated body and delivered my twin sons at 37 weeks and 5 days, and our little family of three (Dreamy, me and two-year old Bisky) changed forever. Just three short years before that moment, Dreamy and I were recently married and pursuing successful …
